SCIENCE CAFÉS
We would like to invite you to open meetings in the form of science cafés bringing the scientific activities of the University's staff to a wider audience. We are planning 16 lectures, including two in English for Erasmus students, to be held once/twice a month on the MS Teams platform. The topics will be chosen to present the broadest possible face of science, touching on the most relevant current issues. Among the proposed topics are the following: the dangers of cyberspace, the dilemmas of the automation of life, the pitfalls of credit, climate change, the impact of advertising on product choices, artificial intelligence, vaccinations or GMOs, etc.
The aim of each meeting will be to develop conclusions related to the topic raised and the participants' perception of it, to verify information spread on the Internet, as well as to broaden the participants' knowledge of science and social sciences.
Originally, the project planned a formula of science cafés with fragrant coffee and delicious accompaniment. The pandemic has caused our habits and opportunities to change, hence - until we return to traditional meetings - we offer our meetings as a great opportunity for uninhibited discussion and encourage you to brew a coffee or tea before the meeting to savour more strongly the scientific issues that permeate our daily lives ....
