Diploma subjects

The block of diploma subjects - with full freedom of choice - will facilitate the continuation of second-cycle studies in the field of chemistry - specialization in biological chemistry.

SUBJECT / TITLE / PROGRAM Number of working hours Teacher

Lecture - Biological activity and synthesis of glycopeptides and their precursors

Characteristics of amino acids and sugars, synthesis of peptides, glycoproteins and simple sugar compounds, characteristics of methods for the purification and identification of biomolecules (chromatography, electrophoresis, IR spectroscopy, UV-VIS, NMR, mass spectrometry), the role and functions of peptides, proteins, sugars and glycoproteins in the body, characteristics of selected peptides and sugars.

30 dr hab. Janusz Madaj, prof. UG i dr hab. Adam Prahl, prof. UG
Diploma seminar

The seminar will be divided into two parts. The first of them will be presentations prepared by students and showing theoretical issues that are an extension of the lecture.
In the second part of the seminar, graduate students will present the results of experimental research constituting their diploma projects.
