Polish Environment Monitoring Patrol
PPMŚ - Polski Patrol Monitoringu Środowiska (Polish Environment Monitoring Patrol)
The PPMŚ project was created on the initiative of
of the Scientific Circle of Environmental Protection of the University of Gdansk
and
League of Nature Protection District in Szczecin,
who will implement the information and education activities contained therein
in cooperation with the Association of Cities and Maritime Communities - the beneficiary of the project.
Planned date of project implementation: 01.01.2014 - 30.06.2015.
The project received funding from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
The goal of the campaign is to make project recipients aware of the impact of "low emissions" on human health, as well as environmental quality. It will be important to prove and make local communities aware that "low emissions" result from the use of low-efficiency, local, outdated coal-fired furnaces and local coal-fired heating plants/boiler houses, from burning the worst types of coal and waste in unsuitable furnaces, to indicate the health and social benefits of eliminating "low emissions" by demonstrating environmentally friendly heating methods, to present examples to the recipients and to share good practices on long-term measures that guarantee air quality improvement in the area.
Recipients of the project will be local residents and communities, including school and university students from all over the country. Project activities will be directed largely to high school students and academic youth. The Polish Environmental Monitoring Patrol, is precisely academic youth performing, with the participation of high school students, air quality surveys for the presence of "low emission" pollutants.
