09.05.2014 and 13.05.2014
On 6 and 13 May 2014 a workshop for students from 1st LO in Gdańsk organized by the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science took place at the Faculty of Chemistry. The topics of the classes were properties of the elements of the block s, p, d. The meetings were organized as a thank you to the school for enabling it to conduct classes with students in the academic year 2013/2014.

On 14 April 2014 a workshop for students from the XXIV LO in Gdańsk was held at the Faculty of Chemistry organized by the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science. The topic of the classes was copper compounds, and the title of the meeting is: “Copper or not to have?” (PL: Miedź czy nie mieć?).

On Saturday, 5 April 2014 at 9.00 a.m. at our Faculty took place a test exam in chemistry, which was organized by the staff of the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Gdańsk, Polish Chemical Society – Gdańsk Branch and Wydawnictwo Pedagogiczne Operon Sp. Z o. o. 88 students and graduates of secondary schools took part in the trial exam. The results of the exam will be published on 14 April 2014 on the website of the Gdańsk Branch of the Polish Chemical Society (www.ptch.og.ug.edu.pl) in the News tab and on the website of the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry.

On 02.04.2014 a group of 33 students from V LO in Gdańsk participated in chemistry workshops at the Faculty of Chemistry UG. The classes were organized by the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science. The subject of the classes was the basic types of chemical compounds.

On 31.03.2014 a group of students from Gdańsk Junior High School participated in chemistry workshops at the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Gdańsk led by the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science. Students were given inorganic salts and studied their properties.

On Saturday, 29 March 2014, students of the Scientific Circle of Chemists were invited to conduct chemical workshops at Junior High School No. 1: Józef Wybicki in Lębork. The workshop was attended by about 30 students. Experimental demonstrations with the participation of students were conducted by members of the Scientific Circle of Chemists under the supervision of Dr. Beata Grobelna.

On 26.03.2014 a group of 32 students from V LO in Gdańsk participated in chemistry workshops at the Faculty of Chemistry UG. The classes were organized by the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science. The subject of the classes was the basic types of chemical compounds.

On 12.03.2014 a group of 16 students from V LO in Gdańsk participated in chemistry workshops organized by the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science. The subject of the classes was oxidation and reduction reactions.
Other workshops entitled “Chemical Elements and Their Reactions”, conducted under the supervision of students from the Scientific Circle of Chemists, were attended by students from the 2nd grade of Secondary School of Chemistry: Z. Herbert in Gdańsk. The workshop was combined with a lecture by Dr. Henryk Myszka entitled. “Properties of selected elements of block s and p”.

On Wednesday, 09.03.2014 students of the Scientific Circle of Chemists conducted chemical workshops for students of the XX High School: Zbigniew Herbert in Gdańsk. Second class students performed experiments on the properties of chromium and manganese compounds - "Chromium and manganese compounds".

On 05.03.2014 a group of 17 students from the V LO in Gdańsk participated in chemical workshops organized by the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science. The subject of the classes was oxidation and reduction reactions.
On that day, other workshops were attended by students from Gymnasium No. 12 in Gdynia, who under the supervision of students - members of the Scientific Circle of Chemists performed chemical experiments with inorganic chemistry. The topic of the workshop is "Chemical elements and their reactions".

On 21.01.2014 students from the Public Gymnasium in Leźno participated in chemistry workshops at the Faculty of Chemistry UG, which were conducted by the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science. The youth dealt with issues related to exo- and endothermic reactions.

On 16.01.2014 a group of 15 students from XXIV LO in Gdańsk participated in chemistry workshops at the Faculty of Chemistry UG. The classes were organized by the Department of Chemistry Education. The subjects were buffer solutions and alkalimetric titration.

On 14.01.2014 students from Junior High School No. 2 in Sopot took part in chemical workshops conducted by the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science. The subject of the classes was acid-alkaline reaction of solutions and pH scale.

On 09.12.2013 a group of 15 students from XXIV LO in Gdańsk participated in chemistry workshops at the Faculty of Chemistry UG organized by the Department of Chemistry Education. The subject of the classes were experiments on amines, amides, hydroxy acids, amino acids and proteins.

On 05.12.2013 a group of 17 students from XXIV LO in Gdańsk took part in chemistry workshops at the Faculty of Chemistry proposed by the Department of Chemistry Education. The subjects of the classes were experiments involving chemical kinetics, ionic reactions, characteristic reactions.

Two days before "Mikołajki" - on 4 December 2013 the Scientific Circle of Chemists organized workshops for children from the "Trampolina" sociotherapeutic day-care center, where students are volunteers. Wards of the common room learned the methods used in cosmetics chemistry, made candles and soaps by hand. Working on their cosmetics made a lot of fun and touched the imagination of the workshop participants. During them they created colorful and fragrant gifts, which at the end the children took with them. The second part of the workshop dealt with classical chemistry, during which the wardens of the common room learned a lot of interesting information about chemistry and participated in chemical experiments.

Students, with the participation of members of the Scientific Circle of Chemists, performed chemical experiments in inorganic chemistry, corresponding to the chemistry program in high school. The workshop was attended by students of the Academic High School "Linguist" in Gdańsk.
