Part-time studies - regulations
- The student's professional work should coincide with the chosen field of study.
- Part-time students not working in an occupation related to their field of study are subject to the regulations for compulsory student work placements for full-time students.
- Part-time students working in a profession or running their own business for no less than 6 months which is related to their field of study may be given credit for work placements on the basis of an application submitted to the Head of Work Placement together with the relevant documents:
- in the case of work in an occupation, the following should be submitted with the application: a scan of the employment contract/order, a list of activities performed in accordance with the apprenticeship programme, confirmed by the employer, scans of diplomas/certificates confirming the possession of additional qualifications and skills,
- in the case of self-employment, the following must be submitted with the application: an extract from the Central Business Register and Information, a list of activities performed in accordance with the apprenticeship programme, scans of diplomas/certificates confirming additional qualifications and skills.
- In order to receive credit for the professional placement, the student is required to provide the Head of Professional Practice with the following information upon completion:
- documentation evidencing length of service, position held and, if applicable, responsibilities,
- an opinion on the course of the internship issued by the company's Internship Supervisor, certified with a stamp and signature,
- a 2-page (one page) report stamped by the workplace and signed by the student; the report should include the name and general characteristics of the placement, a brief presentation of the tasks carried out during the placement, and a detailed description of one selected research task carried out by the student.
- The placement will be credited upon approval of the Professional Practice Manager. The student is informed about the passing or failing of a given scope of professional practice through the IT system of study support.
- Each student wishing to take the diploma exam should settle the professional practice by the end of the last semester of studies and at least one month before submitting the diploma thesis. As a consequence of not settling the in-service training on time, the student may not take the diploma examination..
- The in-service training is a subject included in the study programme, and failure to complete it on time entails consequences provided for in the Academic Regulations.
- Only students who work professionally or who have worked in accordance with their field of study can be exempted from the obligation to complete an in-service training. The decision on exemption is made by the Head of Apprenticeship in agreement with the Dean upon a written application of the interested person supplemented by documentation confirming the length of employment, the position held and possibly the scope of duties.
