  1. Internships for Students of the Faculty of Chemistry are Mandatory and are an integral part of the study plan.

The student may choose from among domestic and foreign companies operating in the field of economy thematically related to the fields of study and didactics conducted by the Faculty of Chemistry, in particular in the field of study the student attends. In cases of ambiguity, the decision on the possibility of carrying out the internship in the place proposed by the student is made by the Internship Manager (for each course) in consultation with the Dean of Studies.
  3. The student individually seeks a placement. The decision on directing the student to the placement location indicated by him/her and on changing the date of the professional practice is made by the Professional Practice Manager. The student may also take advantage of the offer of companies that have established formal cooperation (by signing an agreement) with the University of Gdańsk and have committed themselves to enable students to undergo in-service training.
  4. The student's willingness to join an apprenticeship on his/her own initiative must report to the Apprenticeship Manager by providing a certificate of acceptance completed by the workplace (there may be an e-mail confirming acceptance of the apprenticeship). On the basis of this certification, the student receives an agreement and a referral from the Apprenticeship Manager. In the event that the workplace that organises the apprenticeship would like information on the apprenticeship programme, an explanation of the apprenticeship programme should be provided to them.
  5. Students complete their apprenticeship during the summer holidays in accordance with the detailed organisation of the academic year in their free time. In justified cases, with the agreement of the Head of Professional Practice and the Dean, they may also take place in the mid-year system.

  7. The university covers the cost of insurance (accident insurance).
  8. The student is not entitled to any other financial claims, neither against the University nor against the workplace where he/she is on placement.
  9. The student reports to the placement on the day of the placement after arranging the start time of the placement with the establishment in advance by telephone.

    5. comply with health, safety and fire protection rules,
    6. observe the principles of professional and state secrecy and protect the confidentiality of data to the extent specified by the internship organiser,
    7. submit to the instructions of the workplace management and comply with the regulations in force at the place of practice,

Failure to comply with the provisions of work discipline or the terms and conditions contained in the contract (agreement), will result in the student's dismissal from the work placement.

  1. During the duration of the placement, the student is obliged to report to the employer, as well as to the Practice Manager, any issues that have a negative impact on the implementation of the placement programme.
  2. In order to receive credit for the professional placement, the student is required to provide the Head of Professional Practice with the following information upon completion:
    1. an opinion on the course of the internship issued by the company's Internship Supervisor, certified with a stamp and signature,
    2. 3. a completed work placement logbook (including a description of the tasks performed by the student) signed by the Work Placement Supervisor from the workplace where the work placement is carried out.
  3. The placement will be credited upon approval of the Professional Practice Manager. The student is informed about the passing or failing of a given professional practice area via the IT study support system.
  4. Any student wishing to take the diploma examination should settle their work placement by the end of the last semester of study and at least one month before submitting their diploma thesis. 5. The apprenticeship is a subject included in the study programme and failure to pass it on time results in the consequences provided for in the Academic Regulations.
