Master's Laboratory Course
Dear Students!
We encourage you to do your Master's project in the Laboratory of Intermolecular Interactions operating within the Department of Bioinorganic Chemistry. We study the stabilizing interactions of the structures of compounds with biological activity. Our goal is to study the forces, based on the physics of interactions, that have a significant impact on the stabilization and ordering of molecules. The subject of research are processes such as: protein folding, aggregation and association of hydrophobic compounds, acid-base equilibria and complexation equilibria, or obtaining new, stable complexes with antimicrobial activity. The compounds under study are of biological importance and will be used in medicine, the pharmaceutical industry and cosmetics.
We perform research using theoretical methods (molecular mechanics, molecular dynamics, quantum mechanical methods) and experimental methods (synthesis, nuclear magnetic resonance, potentiometry, conductometry, UV-Vis spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, voltammetry, thermogravimetry). Our cooperation with other research centers allows for even greater development and ensures the interdisciplinary nature of the work performed under our supervision. We offer substantive support to graduate students and the opportunity to propose their own research topic. Often, master's theses are published in the form of an article in an international journal.
