"Photocatalytic purification of air streams"

Project number: GEKON1/03/214483/16/2014

Project Leader: PHU DYTRYCH Sp. z o.o. in Lodz.

Project Partner: University of Gdansk

Project Head: Prof. Dr. Eng.  Adriana Zaleska

Granted funding for the project partner: PLN 296,960.00

Implementation time: 09.2014-05.2016 r.

The research is carried out at the University of Gdansk at the Department of Chemistry in the Laboratory of Nanomaterials and Nanocomposites.

The aim of the project is to design, build and implement novel photocatalytic devices for purification of air streams containing volatile organic compounds (VOCs), inorganic compounds and microorganisms (bacteria, fungi), which, among other things, will allow to reduce the level of pollution and deodorize the air at landfills and wastewater treatment plants and thus protect surface and groundwater resources by eliminating a major source of pollution.
The device will be built using the following modules: pretreatment module (dust removal), advanced oxidation, residual ozone destruction module and adsorption on activated carbon.
