Classes for students conducted in the academic year 2017/2018

09.05.2018

On Wednesday, May 9, 2018, classes were held for students from grade 7 from Primary School No. 19 in Gdańsk: Meritorious Seamen School. They were prepared by students of the Teacher Education Module under the supervision of Dr. Bożena Karawajczyk from the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science at the end of the classes on didactics of chemistry, which took place in the summer semester at the same school. The workshop consisted of two parts: the first so-called laboratory, during which the students performed chemical experiments, and the second so-called play, in which the young people took part in didactic games. The topic of the meeting was: What do I know about chemistry.

On Wednesday, May 9, 2018, students of the Teacher Education Module under the supervision of Dr. Bożena Karawajczyk from the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science organized a workshop entitled: Acids, hydroxides, salts, which were attended by young people from the second grade of secondary school at Primary School No. 19 in Gdańsk: Merited People of the Sea. In the summer semester, classes on didactics of chemistry were held for students of the teacher specialty. The students were divided into two teams and worked alternately in the laboratory, where they performed chemical experiments and in the auditorium, where they participated in didactic games related to the subject of the workshops.

08.05.2018

On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, students of the Teacher Education Module under the supervision of Dr. Małgorzata Czaja from the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science organized a workshop entitled: Meeting with chemistry for pupils of School and Preschool Complex No. 4 in Gdynia. It was the end of the chemistry didactics classes carried out in the summer semester at the above school. The workshop was attended by students of grade 7. They were divided into two groups. While one of the groups worked in a chemistry lab, the other, divided into small teams, played a field game in the area of the Department of Chemistry (the subjects of the tasks the students had to perform during the game were related to the contents learned in chemistry lessons).

23.10.2017 - 22.01.2018

In the winter semester of the academic year 2017/2018, 22 workshops were held for secondary and high school students led by doctoral students of the Faculty of Chemistry. Our laboratories were visited by students from Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot, Wejherowo, Tczew and Nowy Dwór Gdański. When conducting chemical experiments, students were usually assisted by students from the Scientific Chemists' Circle. 25.01.2018

On Thursday, January 25, 2018, students from Primary School No. 92 in Gdańsk took part in the laboratory classes. Under the supervision of students from the Teacher Education Module, they studied the properties of hydroxides, acids and salts. The theme of the meeting was "Close Encounter with Chemistry". The classes were organized by Dr. Małgorzata Czaja from the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science.

22.01.2018

On Monday, January 22, 2018, a group of students of the Teacher Education Module led by Dr. Małgorzata Czaja from the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science prepared a workshop for students from the Non-Public Primary School of Montessori Academy. The title of the meeting is "Chemistry can be liked." On it, students independently studied the properties of substances commonly found in everyday life.

11.01.2018

On Thursday, January 11, 2018, the chemistry workshops were attended by young people from the I High School: Nicolaus Copernicus. The students performed experiments in the field of Chemistry of Colorful Chemicals. The classes were prepared by students of the Teacher Education Module under the supervision of Dr. Małgorzata Czaja from the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science.

18.12.2017

On Monday, December 18, 2017, young people from the First High School in Gdańsk took part in the chemical workshop. The subject of the classes was Experiments of young high school graduates. At the end of the meeting, high school students wrote a test to check their newly acquired skills.  The classes were organized by Dr. Małgorzata Czaja from the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science and her students, students of the Teacher Education Module.

On Thursday, December 14, 2017, in the afternoon, the second workshop was organized, attended by young people from the I High School: Nicolaus Copernicus in Gdańsk. The topic of the meeting was: Chemical experiments - training before graduation. The classes were prepared by students of the Teacher Education Module under the supervision of Dr. Małgorzata Czaja from the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science.

14.12.2017

On Thursday, December 14, 2017, we hosted students from Junior High School No. 8: Defenders of the Polish Post in Gdańsk. They participated in workshops prepared by students of the Teacher Education Module under the supervision of Dr. Małgorzata Czaja from the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science. The meeting consisted of two parts. In the first part of the class, students worked in the laboratory studying the properties of hydroxides, acids and salts. In the second, junior high school students consolidated and tested their knowledge by playing didactic games.

On Monday, 11 December 2017, a workshop was held for the students of the Salesian High School: John Bosco in Rumia. The topic of the meeting was the study of the properties of basic inorganic compounds. The workshops were prepared by students of the second year of Master’s studies, participants of the Teacher Education Module under the supervision of Dr. Małgorzata Czaja from the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science.

On Thursday, 30th November 2017, students from the I High School: Nicolaus Copernicus in Gdańsk participated in the second workshop organized by Dr. Małgorzata Czaja from the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science. The students dealt with the topic: “Chromatography and ion reactions”. During the laboratory work the students were supported by students of the Teacher Education Module.

On Thursday, 30 November 2017, junior high school students from the School and Preschool Complex No. 4 in Gdynia took part in a workshop organized by Dr. Małgorzata Czaja from the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science. The topic of the meeting was to study the properties of basic chemical compounds. Students, in the laboratory, were helped by students of the 2nd year of Master’s studies, participants of the Teacher Education Module.

On Monday, November 27, 2017, we hosted students of the XXIV High School in Gdańsk. They participated in laboratory classes prepared under the supervision of Dr. Małgorzata Czaja from the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science by students of the 2nd year of Master’s studies, participants of the Teacher Education Module. The topic of the meeting was: "Laboratory of a young graduate - study of chemical properties of compounds of selected elements of the periodic table".

On Thursday, November 23, 2017, a workshop for third-grade students of the Catholic School Complex: St. Kazimierz in Gdańsk was held. The subject of the classes was the study of the properties of hydroxides and acids using the microscale method. The workshops were conducted by students of the second year of Master’s studies, participants of the Teacher Education Module under the supervision of Dr. Małgorzata Czaja from the Department of Didactics and Popularization of Science.
